Registration is now open for the Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser.
Part of a national campaign to support the less fortunate, the local event raises money for programs and services at Neighbour-Link Chatham-Kent.
Network Coordinator Al Baker says the event will be held February 24th at the Hub, the former Ursuline chapel.
“Transportation is a huge problem for a lot of people especially with limited income. We make sure people get to their medical appointments, to the food bank and get their taxes done, that sort of thing,” says Baker. “We also do friendly visits to combat the growing problem of loneliness. Basically financial planning for people that need to get set up with a budget, that sort of thing.”
You can register online at cnoy.org, or by contacting Neighbour-Link.
