Feb 8th. Means Food Freedom

Food-Bank-Canned-VeggiesThe Kent Federation of Agriculture is looking for local producers to celebrate Food Freedom Day.

February 8th marks the day when the average Canadian has earned enough money to buy their groceries for the whole year.

Kathy Delanghe with the Kent Federation of Agriculture says they’re looking for help.

“Last year we had local producers participate. We had a lot of the local organizations business and small farmers donate. It could be anywhere from $20 worth of food, or hundreds of dollars worth,”says Delanghe. “They’re donating food for our local salvation army and outreach for hunger.”
