Chatham-Kent Police have taken $1500 in fentanyl off the streets.
Three people have been arrested following a bust in Chatham on Wednesday.
Officers were keeping an eye on a 24-year-old man, who allegedly went to two separate locations to sell drugs.
Constable Lisa Rodger says fentanyl is especially concerning for local authorities.
“The problem with fentanyl we’re finding is the ability to overdose so quickly, which could cause death,” Rodger says. “Our intel unit is very active in the community, trying to stop as many local dealers as we can.”
The accused has been charged with two counts of trafficking and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Two others, a Wallaceburg man and Chatham woman, are also facing drug possession charges.
