Owners of Sombra’s Bluewater Ferry are on their own when it comes to funding repairs of the causeway that was damaged earlier this year.
Co-owner Morgan Dalgety says the federal government won’t be offering any financial support, so they are working on some fundraisers:
“We have the go fund me that is up and running and credit unions are accepting donations to the save blue water ferry account. There’s the BBQ at the No Frills at Corunna on Saturday and Sunday donating all their funds,” says Dalgety. “We’re trying to get some corporate funding from chemical valley.”
Dalgety says total cost of the repairs could be several million dollars.
