The Wallaceburg-Walpole Island Health Coalition is continuing its campaign against the privatization of health care.
Chair Shirley Roebuck helped to lead an information picket in Wallaceburg on Saturday.
“The problem is that most of these private clinics are owned by physicians who also have privileges at hospitals so if they’re not working at hospitals they’re working at their private clinic,” Roebuck says. “This obviously increases wait times at our public hospitals.”
The Ontario Health Coalition’s current “We Can’t Bear to Lose Our Health Care” campaign features a 7 foot bear that has been touring the province.
Roebuck says they’ll be releasing a report this morning about privatization issues.
