With thousands of views over the last few days, Chatham-Kent officials will take to Facebook for the final time tonight, answering questions from the public on the draft 2021 budget.

So many events have gone virtual this year because of the pandemic, and the municipality’s budget information sessions are no different.

The past two days, members of council and administration have taken part in Facebook Live sessions to answer questions from area residents about the municipality’s finances.

Issues of concern include infrastructure spending, affordable housing, municipal staffing, and helping local businesses through the pandemic.

The final Facebook Live session will be held at 6 o’clock tonight on the Municipality of Chatham-Kent Facebook page.

Chatham-Kent residents are looking at a potential tax hike of 3.96%, deliberations to try to lower that number get underway next week.
