Tonight marks the final public meeting to discuss potential changes to Chatham-Kent’s ward boundaries and council composition.

The municipality is undergoing a review to ensure it is providing an effective and equitable system of representation for all residents.

The current makeup of council with the mayor and 17 councillors representing six wards has remained the same since amalgamation in 1998, despite similar reviews done in 2008, 2011, and 2015.

Tonight’s public engagement session at the Bradley Convention Centre will run from 6 until 8 p.m. and will also be live-streamed on the Chatham-Kent Facebook page and YouTube channel.

An online survey will be collecting feedback through the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website through September 12.
