Fines Laid in Chatham Workplace Incident

Almost one year to the date it happened, a Kingsville company has been fined after a worker was hurt in Chatham.

Last February 28th, the victim was working for Liqui-Force Services, a pipeline rehabilitation company on O’Neil Street in Chatham, unspooling cable.

The cord was then snagged by a passing vehicle and the worker pulled into traffic, suffering life-threatening injuries.

In court on Tuesday, the justice fined the company $50,000 and imposed a 25% victim surcharge to a provincial government fund to help victims of crime.
