Chatham-Kent firefighters were busy last week battling two large fires.
About $650,000 in damage was done to two separate buildings.
The first happened in Mitchell’s Bay on Thursday.
Fire fighters arrived to find a two storey building fully engulfed in flames.
Officials say the high winds began to drive the fire toward nearby houses and two large propane tanks.
Crews from Dover and Tupperville worked quickly to put out the flames, while also keeping the propane tanks cool to prevent an explosion.
The second fire happened on Mull Road on Friday.
Fire fighters from Blenheim, Ridgetown, Erieau, and surrounding areas battled the blaze, using pumpers, water tanks, and an aerial tower to extinguish the flames.
In each case, about $750,000 worth of property was saved.
