No injuries have been reported after a large fire broke out at a funeral home in Petrolia.
The Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department said firefighters responded to the blaze Wednesday evening at Needham-Jay Funeral Home at 4059 Petrolia Line.
Fire officials said the flames were quickly extinguished, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the building.
According to a post on the funeral home’s Facebook page, the damage was contained to an apartment above the funeral home. The family residing in the apartment was able to escape the building safely.
“Any deceased that were in our care have not been affected and we will be in touch with their families shortly,” the post read.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and a damage estimate has not been released at this time.
