After high winds knocked out power to a number of homes in Dresden this week, area fire fighters hopped into action, checking on elderly residents in the community.
Volunteer fire fighters checked on seniors living in the town’s two retirement residents to see if they need anything as some are using oxygen tanks that may need to be plugged in.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services recommends having a 72-hour emergency kit on hand in case of an emergency or a long-term power outage.
