Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services is hiring.
A recruitment information session is being held next week for anyone interested in becoming a fire fighter.
Officials say they’re looking for applicants with a very specific skill set with experience in:
- Journeyman certificate
- Firefighter training
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification
- Experience as a full-time firefighter; including military, seasonal, forestry, paid on call, volunteer
- Lifeguard, ski patrol, search and rescue
- Experience in Emergency Services or uniformed Public Servant roles (Law Enforcement, Military, Corrections, Park Ranger, Peace Officer)
- Cadet Program (Fire, Police, Sea, Air, Army, etc)
However, officials say as an inclusive department, officials say everyone is welcome, including students who are still in school and searching for their career path.
The information session will be held in Council Chambers at the Civic Centre on Saturday, June 23rd, starting at 9am.
