Quite a coup for the organizers of FireFest.
Brent Denure says Sony Pictures will be giving an advance screening of a new movie called Only the Brave at the Galaxy Cinemas on Thursday evening.
“We’ve developed a friendship with the real life personality in the movie, Brendan McDonough. Brendan and I have developed a relationship. We knew the movie was being made and we’d been making a hard play early on to get it to Chatham-Kent,” says Denure. “It was just a plum that it happens to be the first Canadian screening of the movie, that’s a huge surprise and really neat.”
The movie focues on the true story of an elite crew of fire fighters who battled a forest fire in Arizona back in 2013.
Tickets for the event have sold out.
