Whether you love fireworks or hate them, the municipality is looking for your thoughts.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue is looking to add extra celebration dates to the municipality’s fireworks by-law. As it stands, the current rules include Victoria Day, Canada Day, and New Year’s. This year, the Hindu celebration of Diwali was added in October.

An online survey on the Let’s Talk Chatham-Kent website is looking for input from the community on possibly adding more celebrations to the list. Officials are also looking for comments from those who find fireworks disruptive.

The deadline for submissions is December 16th.

Results will then be passed on to Chatham-Kent council to consider any changes to the bylaw.
