Chatham-Kent’s first case of COVID-19 has made a full recovery.
C-K Public Health confirm a man in his 50s has made a complete recovery after testing positive for COVID-19 following a cruise. The man returned home prior to the federal Quarantine Act being invoked.
Dr. David Colby says the patient has done “wonderfully”.
“He has satisfied every quarantine measure that was put in place to prevent the spread of the infection,” said C-K’s Medical Officer of Health.
Dr. Colby also commended the individual for his high level of cooperation and commitment throughout the entire process.
“When positive cases are confirmed, we work with the patient to conduct contact tracing, as well as those close to them to ensure they are absolutely clear on the measures in place to protect themselves and others. It was very obvious that this patient, in particular, was very committed to doing anything and everything asked of him,” adds Colby.
This is Chatham-Kent’s first fully recovered case.
Five additional confirmed cases remain in isolation across C-K.
Lambton County has confirmed four COVID-19-related deaths as of Monday morning.
