A 42-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found dead at a home in Chatham.
While not much information is being provided at this time, the Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to check on the well-being of a woman at a residence on Bedford Street on Monday shortly before noon.
The body of a 44-year-old woman was found inside the home when officers arrived.
As a result, a 42-year-old Chatham man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police said no further information is being released to protect the integrity of the investigation.
