It didn’t take long for the first flood watch of the new year.
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is warning residents along the Lake Erie shoreline to be prepared for strong winds throughout the day today with the risk of more flooding, shoreline damage, and erosion.
Officials say that while the winds today are expected to be from the southwest, which typically tends to be off-shore or along-shore and rarely produces significant flooding, prolonged periods of high wind could have a greater impact than expected.
