Lambton Public Health is releasing more information in the wake of their first five confirmed cases of COVID-19.

None of the five patients have a personal history of travel.

All five range in age from late 60s to late 80s and have pre-existing underlying health conditions.

Public health says local testing continues daily based on prioritizing those at highest risk. Additional lab capacity is being addressed by the province.

Bluewater Health issued a statement saying they continue to prepare to care for increased numbers of local residents with COVID-19. With the anticipated surge in respiratory patients expected, the hospital is working with Home and Community Care, area nursing homes and long-term care homes to appropriately discharge as many patients as possible.
