Flood Watch Remains in Effect

While warnings about major flooding not seen since 2018 in Chatham-Kent didn’t come to fruition, waterways around the area remain quite high this morning.

A flood watch remains in effect from the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority, with flooding in low-lying river flats from Delaware to Chatham.

Officials say the Thames River is dropping in areas to the east and is expected to peak in Chatham this morning, however levels are expected to remain high into the middle of the week.

Meantime, a flood warning from the St Clair Region Conservation Authority issued last Thursday remains in effect, and is set to expire at noon today.
