As water levels in the Thames River recede, attention is turning to recovering and rebuilding.
Provincial officials will be in the municipality over the next several days to assess the damage and determine what assistance can be offered. Once those programs are in place, affected residents will be notified.
Chatham-Kent is also preparing to remove flood-damaged debris from affected areas.
When it comes to debris that washed up during the flood, the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is urging residents not to just push it back into the river, but wait for crews to clear away the mess.
Residents with questions about flooding can call 519-360-1998.
