Ford Extends Emergency Measures Through June

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has extended the emergency measures in place since March 17th.

The order now in effect until June 30th.

Ford said in a statement “ Extending these emergency orders gives our front line health care providers the necessary flexibility to rapidly respond to urgent needs and protect our most vulnerable.”

The province has seen three straight days where the number of new cases has dipped below 200.

Most of the province is now in phase 2 of reopening except for Windsor-Essex, Toronto, and Peel Region.

Ford added “While current emergency orders will remain in place until the end of the month, the government will continue to review each one on an ongoing, case-by-case basis to determine when and if they can safely be adjusted or lifted as part of the provinces framework to safely reopen the province”.
