More than 400 people were at the Bradley Centre in Chatham last night for Doug Ford’s rally.
The newly elected Ontario PC leader spent the day in Chatham-Kent with stops in Wallaceburg, Blenheim, and Chatham after a morning visit in Sarnia.

Ford revealed his plan to cut hospital wait times.
“I’ve learned a lot on this campaign. I was out in Sioux Lookout, and they have a smaller hospital – about 20 beds,” Ford says. “The Administrator [told me] each bed in the hospital is costing taxpayers $3,500 per day. And those hospital beds are being filled by long-term care patients that should be in long-term care beds that cost $135 a day,” says Ford.
The Ontario PC leader, says that this investment will put an end to ‘hallway healthcare’ and will reduce hospital wait times.
“That’s why it’s critical – absolutely critical – that we get long-term care beds. We’re going to deliver 15,000 [of them] for the people of Ontario,” Ford says.
Ford also spoke about wind turbines, minimum wage, and Hydro One.
