Three businesses will be opening their doors at the former Target store in Chatham this fall.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has announced that Sephora, The Brick, and Ardene will be moving into the unoccupied portion of the building at the Thames-Lea Plaza on Grand Avenue West. The trio of businesses will be located between Mercato Fresh and Planet Fitness.

“By creating a thriving retail environment that meets the diverse needs of our community members and visitors, we’re not only keeping dollars in CK, we’re keeping people here, employees here, and families here,” said Mayor Darrin Canniff in a news release.

Both The Brick and Ardene are relocating from their current locations at 990 Richmond St. and the Downtown Chatham Centre, respectively, while Sephora will be opening its first location in Chatham.

“Chatham-Kent is working diligently to become more and more attractive for both small business and big brand name investments. The addition of Sephora to CK’s retail lineup moves us closer to establishing Chatham-Kent as a shopping destination” said Canniff.

The three stores are expected to open in early fall. Exact opening dates will be announced in the coming months, the municipality said.

According to property owner Brad-Lea Meadows, further development is expected at the Thames-Lea Plaza, which will include restaurants in what is currently parking lot space. In addition, there is a 19,000-square-foot space that is still available within the former Target building.
