Efforts to implement Chatham-Kent’s Community Drug Strategy continue to move forward following a recent collaborative forum.
The Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team held the forum at the W.I.S.H. Centre in Chatham on Tuesday, uniting policy leaders, frontline staff, management teams, and individuals with lived and living expertise to prioritize key actions for implementing the strategy.
Over 150 people attended the meeting, which included meaningful discussion on establishing priority actions aimed at preventing and addressing harmful substance use in CK.
The CK Community Drug Strategy is guided by four key pillars –Prevention, Treatment and Recovery, Community Inclusion and Safety, and Harm Reduction.
Chatham-Kent Council approved the implementation of the strategy in March 2024.
