Two Chatham-Kent students and another two from Sarnia have been awarded scholarships as they pursue education in environmental conservation.
The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) recently awarded its 2026 scholarships to the four students who have demonstrated high academic standing and involvement in environmental initiatives.
Tyson Lozon from Wallaceburg District Secondary School in Wallaceburg and Eliana Severs from Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School in Sarnia were both awarded the A.W. Campbell Memorial Scholarship. Lozon will be attending Western University this fall to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, while Severs will be pursuing an Engineering degree at Queen’s University.
Josie Van Dellen, a Wallaceburg resident who attended École secondaire catholique de Pain Court, was awarded the Tony Stranak Conservation Scholarship. Van Dellen will attend the University of Guelph to pursue a degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation.
The Mary Jo Arnold Conservation Scholarship was awarded to Areya Young from Northern Collegiate in Sarnia. She will be attending the University of Waterloo for the Climate and Environmental Change program.
The scholarships are made possible through trust funds established by the St. Clair Region Conservation Foundation and its donors.
In total, $3,000 has been awarded across the St. Clair Region this year.
