The municipality is hoping a free ride will help increase Chatham-Kent’s vaccination numbers as the fight against COVID-19 continues.
RIDE CK will be waiving transit fees for anyone going to a COVID vaccination appointment, either at the Bradley Centre, one of the pop-up clinics around the municipality, doctor’s offices, or local pharmacies.
“We ask that riders let the driver know they’re going to a vaccine clinic at the time of boarding,” says Ann-Marie Millson, Manager of Transit. “We understand the cost of transportation can be a barrier for many residents who are trying to get vaccinated.”
The offer covers regular public transit, the inter-urban bus, or accessible transit in Chatham or Wallaceburg.
