It’s the first snow day of the year for students in Chatham-Kent. School buses in zones one through eight are cancelled today because of the weather. All schools are still open though. 
And if you are heading outdoors today, bundle up. An extreme cold warning remains in effect for Chatham-Kent with wind chill values dropping down to -30 this morning.
Meantime, drivers are urged to take their time with snow-covered conditions on roads across the region.
Most of the major routes in Chatham-Kent are in decent shape this morning, but with snow squalls possible, conditions could change.
To the north, the 402 remains closed between Mandaumin Road and Kerwood as plows and tow trucks continue working to clear the highway.
