This past weekend was a blast going to all of the events in the XS area! This weekend I started out in Blenheim for my first ever Cherry Fest, and I had such a great time! The whole downtown was closed down for all of the activities, shopping, rides, and games that took place during the weekend. I visited many of the small shops around the street and got to watch this exciting event take place. During my day at Cherry Fest I stopped by “Frostbites” for an interview. Not only did I get a great interview, I also got a massive, delicious ice cream called the “kitchen sink”. It really is everything except the kitchen sink! Cherry Fest was so much fun and for my first one ever I truly did have a blast!
Finishing off my night I headed down to Dresden for some live country music at Kinstock. The park was filled with people ready for this music festival to begin. After awhile I packed up and came home, but all in all it was a great Friday night! Saturday morning started out in beautiful, Mitchell’s Bay for the Mitchell’s Bay Car, Truck, Bike, and Tractor show in Mitchell’s Bay park. There were lots of nice vehicles at this event which was a great way to start off my morning! After Mitchell’s Bay I headed over to Thamesville for a Drive For Your Community event put on by the Legion and Sertoma. They had 5 Ford vehicles to drive and a charitable BBQ. After Thamesville I decided to “Kick it at Kinstock” to finish up my afternoon! I was able to interview all of the country bands that were playing which was great. I had a wonderful time meeting all of the musicians and made some friends with some local people from Dresden! I stayed all day at Kinstock because I was having such a great time. Seeing live music is my favourite thing so I had a great Saturday!
I’m looking forward for this weekend. I will be at the Mitchell’s Bay Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, as well as in Wallaceburg to see Cindy Cook (the Polka Dot Door), and in Chatham for the Thames River Revue. Come out and see the Summer Escape!
