A number of fundraisers have been launched to help the victim of Tuesday’s crash on Queens Line.

Jesse Verleye has been identified by friends as the Chatham man whose car was hit head-on by an oncoming vehicle. The crash claimed the life of a Windsor man, and Verleye remains in hospital with serious injuries.

To help support Verleye’s family as he recovers, Fortress Tavern in Chatham is hosting “A Night for Jesse” next Friday, February 10th, however the event has already sold out.

Meantime, Rawkin’ RoyalT on King Street East in Chatham is also accepting donations and giving a portion of wing sales on Monday to the Verleye family.

Verleye, a local auto parts worker and real estate agent, may be best known for being part of the band Face 4 Radio, which has supported a number of community initiatives and fundraisers over the years, including the Festival of Giving.
