An annual charity gala in support of end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent is being hailed as a success.

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation hosted its sixth annual Benefit Gala on Friday at The Chatham Armoury, raising a record $107,300.

The sold-out event featured a gourmet meal prepared by The Chilled Cork and an opportunity to bid in live and silent auctions. Attendees also entered a draw for a .50-carat diamond from Ridgetown’s Mitton’s Jewellers, with Mari-Lynn Mifflin taking home the prize.

The proceeds from the gala will be used to cover ongoing operational needs at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, to ensure families have access to compassionate, end-of-life care at no cost.
