Damage is pegged at around $15,000 following a garage fire in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze at 27 Princess St. N on Tuesday at around 2:45 p.m.
Firefighters with Stations 1 and 2 arrived to find the detached garage fully engulfed in flames, which had also spread across the grass to a neighbour’s fence. The blaze was quickly extinguished, however, the garage and its contents were completely destroyed.
Damage to the garage is estimated at around $10,000 while damage to the neighbouring property is around $5,000.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.
