A local man has come up with a way to give people a taste of farming without having to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Angelo Ligori is promoting a form of boutique farming, offering plots of his own land in Pain Court starting at $50 for the season.

He says this will give people a chance to nurture and grow their own fresh produce.

“We now have about 30 plots that folks have signed up to do,” Ligori says. “Basically from beginner all the way to I’ll call it someone that doesn’t know whether a seed or plant should go in the ground, all the way to ‘Angelo, do it all for me,’ sign up for the platinum plan and I’ll come once a week and fill up a bag of veggies.”

He says they have room for another 30 people to take part.

Ligori will also be offering guest speakers, a seed exchange, and lessons on composting.
