Gas Causes Traffic Troubles

union-gas-logo-enbridgeSome motorists may have to re-route themselves as the Union Gas Panhandle pipeline reinforcement project continues.

A section of Heron Line near Jacob Road will be shut down starting next Thursday as crews continue to work on the natural gas pipeline.

Workers will be installing a temporary access bridge across the Rivard Drain, among other things.

That closure is one of several that will be taking place over the next few months along the 40 kilometre stretch of pipe between Dawn-Euphemia and Pain Court.

Detour routes will be posted, and Union Gas reps will be going door-to-door to make sure affected residents are aware of the closure.

Work on the pipeline is expected to be done in November, with a final clean-up and restoration work taking place next summer.
