Municipally-owned property at Westcourt Boulevard and Minnie Street in Wallaceburg is being considered for an affordable housing development.

A proposed geared-to-income housing development in Wallaceburg will likely take a next step toward its development.

Council will likely approve a tender for a feasibility study, cost estimates and pre-design development for the planned affordable housing project which will be located beside the current Westcourt housing complex in the Bruinsma subdivision.

Chatham-Kent’s housing department is recommending a 70-unit housing development to be built.

Chatham’s ROA Studio is the winning bidder for the housing consultant work, with a bid of $118,250.
Funding for the pre-design work will be funded through a grant by the federal government.
