After scaling back services earlier this month, things are starting to get back to normal at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

CEO Lori Marshall says services in Ambulatory Care are expected to return to normal this week.

“We intend to be back up to full volume on Tuesday,” Marshall says. “Our surgical program will also be back to our normal volumes at that stage as well.”

The services were greatly reduced when the COVID-19 outbreak hit the COVID and Medical units of the hospital forcing many staff members to isolate, and other to shuffle around to different jobs within the hospital.

As of the end of last week, there were 25 staff still off work or self-isolating due to close contact with the virus, but as many as 20 of those were expected back on the job before the end of the long weekend.

Despite services ramping back up again, it’s still best to call ahead before heading into the hospital.
