Close to $5000 has been raised at this year’s YMCA Family Fun Run. 
Volunteer organizer Jim Loyer says despite the cooler weather, over 100 people came out to take part in the 1, 3 and 5 k run and walk in support of the Strong Kids Campaign.
“The Strong Kids Campaign allows people that have challenges financially to still be able to take advantage of the wonderful atmosphere, building, services and products that this YMCA in Chatham offers,” Loyer says. “We’re very happy to be raising a few dollars to enable people in those situations to come and enjoy the Y.”
The event took place on the Y’s Healthy Kids Day, encouraging families to keep active.
