With one week to go before the municipal nomination period comes to a close, a Wallaceburg resident has pulled his name off the ballot.

Chris Glassford says it was a very tough decision to make, but he knows there are some other strong candidates in the race in Ward Five.

“Honestly, I’ve got quite a few things going on in my life as well, that I realized I might not be able to dedicate a lot of time to Wallaceburg as I would like to do,” Glassford says. “I’d like to see Aaron (Hall) or Nick (Cadotte) take a decent role in council this year.”

Glassford says he’s looking forward to helping the community grow in his own way, including supporting entrepreneurs and promoting youth engagement.

There are now four nominees in Ward 5, including incumbent Carmen McGregor, Nick Cadotte, Aaron Hall, and Randy McNeil.
