Proceeds from a golf tournament are supporting those living with dementia in Chatham-Kent.

The family of the late Henry Heyink recently held their second annual Working the Iron charity golf tournament. In all, over $79,000 was raised in support of the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.

Organizers say Heyink was a strong community supporter and proponent of giving back.

The Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent helps than 1000 local residents and their families each year through a variety of programs and services, including day programs in Wallaceburg and Chatham, in-home respite care, First Link Care Navigation and education programs.
