Director Tim Mifflin says they’re expecting even more applications this year for food and toy baskets to help area families through the holidays.

“In the first day that we were open, which was the 7th, we had over 100 applications,” Mifflin says. “If we operate at that rate for the next few weeks, te number of folks (we serve) would be significantly higher.”

Mifflin says the organization typically sees a four per cent increase in applications each year.

The Goodfellows received its first major donation of the holiday campaign over the weekend with a box-load of toy donations from the local chapter of the Harley Owners Group.

The deadline for applications for food and toy baskets for families in need is December 2nd.

The annual porchlight campaign hits the streets two weeks from today, on December 5th.
