Hundreds of local families had a merrier Christmas, thanks to the Chatham Goodfellows and the generosity of local residents, service clubs, and businesses.
More than 1700 food hampers were delivered and 1460 children were provided toys over the holidays as part of the Goodfellows’ 71st annual No Child Without a Christmas Campaign.
The organization raised over $238,372 for this year’s campaign, with more donations still being tallied. That number includes $53,199 through the Porchlight Campaign and another $30,728.94 through the Street Sales fundraiser.
All money raised was used to purchase items for the toy and food hampers. Any leftover food was then distributed to local food banks.
