Grade 5 VIP

Grade 5 students across Chatham-Kent will learn about drug safety through the V.I.P. program this year.

Chatham-Kent Police Special Constable Brenda Koldyk says students will learn how to make good decisions.

“I’ve been doing it for quite a few years. I find it is an exciting program and rewarding. In Grade 5 they’re still at an age where they are reachable,” says Koldyk. “And they still have the opportunity to decide what they want to do with their lives. By giving them the facts early on, it will assist them with where they want to go in the future and once again those choices they have to make.”

Koldyk says there is also an app which provides the same information. The V.I.P. program has been running since 1987.
