It’s the end of an era at the Capitol Theatre.

Manager Lesley Grand will be retiring next month after 28 years at both the Capitol and the Kiwanis Theatre.

She says one of the biggest changes has been the transition to online ticket sales.

“When I first started at the cultural centre we had paper tickets. Somebody would come up and we’d pull them out of a big stack, and dive them their tickets and having CKtickets.com developed under my watch was fun and boy, what a complicated process, doing thing online, but it certainly made things on the financial end of it a lot easier.

After almost three decades, Grand says some of her highlights include bringing astronaut Chris Hadfield to the Capitol in 2014, and a pair of shows with Blue Rodeo at the Kiwanis.
