Ontario PC leadership-hopeful Tanya Granic Allen made a campaign stop in Chatham on Tuesday.

The social conservative held her event at the Retro Suites and focused on a number of issues, including carbon taxes and turbines.

“We are no longer going to be creating energy we don’t need and then selling it, basically begging our American brothers to take it off our grid at a loss,” Granic Allen says. “We don’t need this energy, it’s not safe for farmers, it’s not safe for us, we simply need to have energy relief and that will come, and I guarantee you I will rip (the wind turbines) right out of the ground.”

Granic Allen also vowed to repeal the current sex ed curriculum in schools should she go on to become premier.

PC members have until Friday to cast their ballots in the leadership race, and the winner will be announced on Saturday.
