Chatham-Kent Police have laid charges in connection to recent thefts from a Chatham cemetery.
Dozens of bronze and copper plaques, vases, and other markers were ripped off of gravestones and from the Mausoleum at Maple Leaf Cemetery back in March.
A short time later, many of those missing items were tracked down at a local scrap dealer which, in turn, led investigators to their suspect.
A 36-year-old Chatham has now been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property.
He’ll have to answer to the charges in court, starting next week.
