The local real estate market is off to a hot start in 2021 with January a record setting month.
The Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors reports 105 units sold in January, up 14 per cent over last January.
The average sale price was just over $350,000 up a whopping 42 per cent over January of 2020.
The dollar value of the total units sold was 36.8 million and this is a 62 per cent hike year over year.
The only down side was a lack of properties to sell.
91 new listings in January, off about 13 per cent from a year ago and active listings to start this month were down by 60 per cent compared to last year.
