Police are on the hunt for an armed would-be dumpster diver in Chatham.

The accused was spotted going into a fenced compound at a Grand Avenue Business early Saturday morning, where he tried to break into a locked dumpster.

An employee approached and asked the man to leave. That’s when police say the suspect pointed what looked like a gun at her and fled.

The accused is said to have an average height and build, and was wearing a colourful face mask, grey jogging pants, black coat with light coloured hoodie, winter hat and bright orange and yellow winter gloves.

Anyone who might be able to help with the investigation is asked to call Chatham-Kent Police or Crime Stoppers.
