Two people are facing charges after allegedly trying to cross the Ambassador Bridge into Canada with several firearms.

The Canada Border Services Agency said on July 27 officers discovered and seized a handgun, two semi-automatic rifles, multiple large-capacity magazines, a silencer, and undeclared currency after stopping a vehicle that was attempting to cross into Windsor.

The two travellers were forced to pay a $3,500 fine to release the vehicle and another $800 for the release of the currency.

The pair were also under the Customs Act and forced to return to the United States.
