Habitat for Humanity Working Toward Next Build

The work never ends at Habitat for Humanity in Chatham-Kent. But each build seems a little easier than the one before.

Last Friday, they completed their fifth build in Pain Court and handed the keys to new owner Cindy Krutasky. Executive Director Nancy McDowell says Krutasky will be a force in the group now.

“Cindy has a deep and passionate connection to Habitat that I haven’t seen before. I can see her being an advocate in the Family Services and Family Selection process, and helping other families because who can speak to it better than someone who has been through the process herself. She is an amazing, intelligent go-getter that I’m really looking forward to working with,” says McDowell.

McDowell added they have already selected the recipient for the house next year and it will be built in Chatham.

“We already have a family that is in need of a home next year. It’s a mom and four children – two boys and two girls. We’re looking for a piece of property in Chatham. If anybody knows of one, we’re looking to hear from you,” McDowell says.
