It’s Halloween, and everybody should have fun, but everybody needs to take care tonight.
That’s the word from Chatham-Kent police.
Authorities want to see everybody staying aware and alert and watching out for cars.
Make sure trick and treaters stay on well-lit streets, use crosswalks and don’t go into people’s homes.
Of course, children should not eat treats and goodies until they are examined by an adult at home. Candy should not be eaten if the package is already opened. Small, hard pieces of candy are a choking hazard for young children.
