It was 100 years ago today that Erieau officially became incorporated. 
The town, originally a shipping port has grown and evolved since 1917 and the community is recognizing its history today.
In Chatham, a special 100th anniversary flag will be raised at the Civic Centre at 10am.
In the town itself there will be a special ceremony at 1pm, followed by refreshments and memorabilia display at the fire hall.
Erieau also has a number of events planned over the summer to celebrate the centennial.
